SOCIAL STRATIFICATION:

Social stratification is found in all groups and is transmitted from one generation to another.

Social stratification is a hierarchy of positions in terms of economic production that influences social rewards for those in positions.

Generally, social stratification refers to the ranking of individuals and groups in any society.

Social stratification is the establishment of hierarchical arrangement and social categories.

A social category that can be developed into social groups and statuses and their corresponding roles.

Inequalities in the division of this society show that some people get more rewards than others.

Social stratification is defined in many ways but mainly refers to institutional inequalities such as power, wealth and status of individuals.

The status quo is everywhere.

Social stratification is subdivided on the basis of power, prestige and wealth.

According to Bobby Lone English Dictionary, social stratification is the process of forming social classes, it is the study of classes or levels in a society, often the classification is based on occupation and political power.

According to social structure it can be seen as the differentiation of statuses and social roles in a hierarchical order.

This is sometimes referred to as institutional inequality by psychologists.As a social process it is seen as the division of society into social classes that develop into cooperative, competitive and antagonistic social groups for the status quo or social change.

According to borgardus:

A community is an entire social group in which people have a sense of V feeling and people live in a particular area and in which people communicate with each other and have relationships with each other.

According to m.c.manzer:

In a society people living in a particular geographical area is called a community

According to a.w.green:

A community is a group of people who live together in a particular area and have a similar standard of living

TYPES OF STRATIFICATION SYSTEMS

Open system

This is also known as class system.

In this type of class, points in social statification are rewarded according to merit.

And the rank system is linked to individual achievements. Status is said to be attained based on what a person achieves and what he can do with his own efforts.

Closed system

This type of social stratification system is known as cast system where status is defined as characteristics that determine position.
